Calvin Logue, a 28-year-old DJ and data engineer from Glasgow, performed an unusual DJ set at Barlinnie prison, Scotland's largest jail. Initially at the prison to install telephones, the guards discovered his DJ talents and invited him to play for the inmates.
Calvin played for 150 prisoners in the prison chapel, with a mixed reception but overall appreciation, as evidenced by applause at the end of his set. One former inmate plans to attend Calvin's upcoming headline show in Glasgow.
The event, which Calvin shared on TikTok, went viral, earning him a comparison to Johnny Cash, who famously performed in prisons. The Scottish Prison Service highlighted the use of arts for rehabilitation and the well-being of those in their establishments.
