A tragic incident in Gaza where a UN school, used as a shelter, was damaged in strikes on Gaza's Jabalia Refugee Camp, resulting in the deaths of at least 20 people. The UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) reported that this damage occurred after two days of heavy bombardments in the area.

Another shelter at Beach Refugee Camp was also damaged earlier, with one child reportedly killed. These locations are in the north of the Gaza Strip, an area that Israel has declared an evacuation zone.

The Israeli military stated that it had targeted Hamas commanders in its strikes on the camp, citing "precise intelligence" and accusing Hamas of intentionally using civilian buildings for its infrastructure, endangering Gazan civilians. The conflict in Gaza has led to significant casualties and displacement.
