ASLEF Union Strikes to Disrupt Train Services for 15 Companies in England

Train drivers in the ASLEF union will go on a six-day overtime ban starting from Monday, which will disrupt train services for fifteen train companies in England.

The strike is a result of the ongoing pay dispute between the union and the employers, who are demanding changes to working practices to cut costs and modernize the railway.

The union argues that its members should not have to sacrifice working conditions for a below-inflation wage increase.

Aslef members at 10 operators have already backed further strike action, which could last for another six months if there's no settlement.

The train companies are preparing to close hundreds of ticket offices, as only 12% of tickets are now sold at station kiosks.

The RMT union is also set to stage strikes later this month over pay, jobs, and working conditions, which could further disrupt train services.
