Asda's Own-Brand Sunscreen Products Triumph in Safety Testing: Report

According to a report by consumer group Which?, a supermarket own-brand sunscreen has triumphed in safety testing.

Specifically, Asda succeeded in the testing, with several of its products passing sun protection tests while also costing relatively little.

The Asda Protect Moisturising Sun Lotion SPF30 was found to contain all the UVA and UVB sun protection claimed, while absorbing easily.

Another Asda product, the Protect Refreshing Clear Sun Spray, was also found to be easy to apply and did not leave any visible residue after application, while containing the required SPF and UVA protection.

The report also noted that Boots' own-brand Soltan Protect & Moisturise Lotion SPF30 "comfortably met" SPF testing for UVB and UVA.

In contrast, a sunscreen product from cosmetics juggernaut Avon was labeled a "Don't Buy" as it did not come close to hitting its claimed SPF30.

Avon stated that the safety of customers is its priority and it will investigate the specific batch of product that was tested by Which?.
