Despite the illness, which led to a significant weight loss, Danielle Harold, the fifth to be eliminated, persevered and stayed on the show. She downplayed the situation, telling a friend that she didn't want her journey to end because of the infection.

The 31-year-old actress was assessed by show medics and managed to recover without hospitalization. Her struggle with the infection remained off-camera, and she completed a 20-day stint in the camp, at one point even enduring a tick bite.

Upon leaving the show, Danielle praised fellow contestant Sam Thompson's positive spirit, calling him her "best mate" and expressing her desire for him to win. Despite joking that he didn't follow her on social media, his team corrected this oversight soon after her comment.
