Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden will reveal her breast cancer ordeal in a BBC documentary titled Amy Dowden: Fight of My Life.

The film, airing this summer on BBC One, will precede her return to the dance show.

Diagnosed at 32, Dowden discovered a lump in her breast in April 2023, right before her honeymoon.

She underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy, and fertility treatment after being diagnosed with stage three breast cancer.

The documentary will highlight her journey, filmed over 15 months, and aims to inspire others to stay vigilant about their health.

In July, further tests revealed additional tumors.

Although Dowden missed last year's Strictly season, she performed in the final group dance in December.

A health check in February showed no evidence of disease, and she has been confirmed to rejoin Strictly's professional lineup.

Dowden, who previously documented living with Crohn's disease in 2020, hopes her story encourages others to self-check for symptoms such as lumps, changes in breast size or shape, and discharge or changes around the nipple.
