The UK government is providing cost-of-living support payments to pensioners to help them cope with rising food and energy bills.
The payments include a boost to regular winter fuel payments for people over 66, along with a separate £300 cost-of-living support payment for more than seven million recipients, including those on means-tested benefits like universal credit, tax credits, or pension credit.
Eligible recipients will receive letters informing them of the payment amount, with payments scheduled for November or December. This additional support aims to address the financial challenges faced by older individuals in the UK.
