Nottingham Panthers ice hockey player Adam Johnson, who tragically died after suffering a fatal neck injury during a match, was planning to propose to his partner, according to his aunt.
Johnson was injured when he collided with Sheffield Steelers player Matt Petgrave, who was wearing a skate, during a game. Despite efforts to revive him, he did not survive surgery.
Johnson's family was watching the game live when the incident occurred. His aunt, Kari Johnson, revealed that he had bought an engagement ring and was preparing to propose to his partner, Ryan Wolfe. The South Yorkshire Police is investigating the incident.
