Accenture Secures Landmark Acquisition of UK AI Start-Up Faculty in Deal Exceeding One Billion Dollars

The consulting giant expands its AI leadership by integrating Faculty’s advanced capabilities and talent into its global AI and technology strategy
Accenture has agreed to acquire the UK artificial intelligence start-up Faculty in a transaction valued at more than one billion dollars, marking the largest ever purchase of a privately held British AI firm.

The deal reflects Accenture’s strategic imperative to deepen its artificial intelligence offerings and support clients in transforming core business processes as AI reshapes industry.

Faculty, founded in 2014 by researchers and engineers, has grown rapidly and established a strong reputation for delivering advanced AI solutions to both private and public sector clients.

The company, which employs over four hundred AI specialists, data scientists and engineers, has quadrupled revenue over the past four years and developed proprietary technology, including its decision-intelligence platform.

Under the terms of the agreement, Faculty’s chief executive and co-founder, Marc Warner, will join Accenture as Chief Technology Officer and become a member of its global management committee.

Warner has longstanding influence in the UK AI ecosystem, including advisory roles on government AI policy, and his appointment signals Accenture’s commitment to advancing responsible and effective AI deployment at scale.

Accenture emphasised that the acquisition will enhance its ability to bring trusted, advanced AI to the heart of client operations worldwide.

Faculty’s technology and expertise are expected to accelerate the consultancy’s work with organisations seeking to embed AI into decision-making, operational workflows and strategic transformation programmes.

The deal also reinforces Accenture’s role in helping companies navigate AI adoption amid rapid technological change that is reshaping labour markets and competitive dynamics.

Faculty has provided AI solutions to a range of high-profile clients, including pharmaceutical groups, and played a notable role in public sector initiatives such as building early-warning systems for health services during periods of crisis.

Its integration into Accenture’s operations will bring those capabilities into a broader global context, supporting major enterprises and governments in deploying AI responsibly and at scale.
