35 more businesses approved for reopening
Thirty-five more business establishments in the British Virgin Islands have been given the proverbial green light by health officials to commence operations today.
Chief Environmental Health Officer Lionel Michael told BVI News that the type of businesses range from money transfer services to hair and nail salons, barbershops and spas.
He said, these inspections occurred on Saturday and Sunday and continues until every establishment is inspected.
He said each establishment that was inspected ‘met the requirements’ as outlined by the Health Emergency Operating Centre, the Social Distancing Task Force and the wider Ministry of Health.
“They (business owners) have their hand hygiene supplies and equipment, where the spaces allow, they have hand sinks outside, and others have various hand sanitizers at the entrance of the door or as soon as you open the door,” he stated.
The Chief Environmental Health Officer further said these establishments have gone above and beyond and has made “tremendous efforts” in complying with the government’s requirements.
In the meantime, entrepreneurs who have not been inspected are urged to complete an online Business Assessment Registration Form on government’s website.
